NYCA Adult Repertory Company

Mystery Comedy

By Jack Sharkey

THE MURDER ROOM is a zany spoof of British mysteries. There are secret chambers, panels and trap lids galore that are operated by ridiculous contrivances - a grand mixture of Agatha Christie, Monty Python and Abbott and Costello. The quick, smart, well-timed dialogue, combined with hilarious situations and physical antics, make this high, mad melodrama a fun night at the theater. Guaranteed to provide many laughs!

Mary already has her heart set on marrying Barnaby's nephew Alan—but not if Barnaby can help it! He hires two bumbling ruffians to do away with Alan, but Alan returns to Mother Goose Land amidst much rejoicing. Mary journeys to the mysterious Toyland through the dangerous Spider Forest. But wait! Barnaby hasn't given up, and he herds the whole gang of Mother Goose Land characters to Toyland in pursuit of Mary. Fame The Musical

NYCA Repertory & Theatre Company

Pop / Rock Musical

Book by  David De Silva and José Fernandez
Music by  Steve Margoshes
Lyrics by  Jacques Levy
Conceived and Developed by David De Silva

It is nothing short of a global phenomenon. First came the hit motion picture, then the long-running television series. Now the screen sensation of the 1980's is the stage sensation of the 1990's and the 2009 Film once more along with the recent smash-hit West End production; a musical that is indeed "gonna live forever."

Set during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984), "Fame-The Musical" is bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today: issues of identity, self-worth, literacy, coming of age and perseverance.

Roles are plentiful, including three Cheshire Cats and dozens of other wonderfully wacky characters. This fast-paced stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as "I'm Late," "The Un-birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah."

The Jungle Book

NYCA Theatre for Children by Children Company

Drama/Childrens’ Theatre

By Vera Morris

Come hear the incredible tale of Mowgli, a young boy raised by wolves. With the help of his friend, the bear Baloo, the panther Bagheera and the python Kaaï, Mowgli learns the ways of the jungle. Some of the jungle boy's adventures are gripping, like the time he encounters the hooded cobra who guards the treasure vault in the Deserted City. Others, like the coconut-tossing monkeys who take him prisoner, are hysterical. But the jungle is also dangerous, for it is the home of Shere Khan, the man-eating tiger who has vowed to destroy Mowgli. With his fawning jackal follower, Shere Khan plots to take control of the jungle. Mowgli must use all his strength and courage to stop Shere Khan before it is too late. This faithful adaptation will enchant all.
