"I've been complimented so much here on my professionalism which I always say was rooted from NYCA. Every set I have been on out here in LA, whether it is a professional one or just a student film, they always tell me how different it is that I am always on time or get there before call time and remain professional the entire filming. Honestly,  its all thanks to my entire experience at NYCA. Also not to mention I had two showcases at the academy where we had to be on stage in front of agents, more then half of the students had never been on a stage before or gone through a theater type rehearsal process, all which was a piece of cake to me!"

“NYCA gave me amazing training, and taught me how to work like a professional. The skills I received there have helped to shape every audition I go to and every job I get. The directors at the New York City Opera were very impressed with my ability to take direction and make character choices, in addition to the technical skill I was able to demonstrate. It's quite awe-inspiring to be performing in front of three thousand patrons at Lincoln Center. I never would have made it to that stage without my NYCA background.”

"Throughout my training as a performer, my greatest growth and most important experiences were had at the New York Conservatory for the Arts. I took dance (ballet, jazz, and tap), acting, and voice for four years at the Conservatory; participated in Troupe 1997; and performed in numerous musicals and recitals. The teaching and directing was excellent - easily comparable to the college-level instruction and professional experiences I have had since. But what was most important to me as a developing artist was the passion and dedication to excellence in the arts I observed from everyone who taught and performed at the Conservatory. Doug Farrell and Randy Conti cultivate that passion in their students so they can in turn be ambassadors for the arts."

"I have spent a lot of time at NYCA and it has helped me grow into the performer that I want to be. I began performing with NYCA in 2003 and have learned a vast amount in the theatre arts field, especially in dance, acting and voice, but have also been given the chance to learn a lot from a technical stand point as well. I have traveled with NYCA for three performance troupes which has helped me see the world and get an idea of what life is like to be a working actor. Now that I am 21, I study the performance arts at Marymount Manhattan College, a school that I probably would not be attending if it weren't for the support and knowledge that I have gained from NYCA. While I was at NYCA I learned how to audition for schools and how to show off my own personality as well as my talent. This summer I have traveled to Springboro, Ohio where I am working my first professional job, performing in Disney's Beauty and the Beast with La Comedia Dinner Theatre. Being away from home I have been able to realize the great qualities that I have picked up from working and learning at NYCA. I am a more well rounded performer, who is able to jump into any track in the show, understudying two leading roles as well as performing in the ensemble. I have learned how to be patient during grueling technical rehearsals, how to deal with fast costume changes, as well as how to be a respectful performer and person to everyone that I work with. For that is one of the best things about NYCA, it teaches students not only how to become a talented performer, but also how to become a well respected person that people will be begging to work with over and over again. Because of this, it is with great pleasure to say that NYCA has helped me become a confidant person that people want to work with and want to hire."
