Our Newest Program, the Musical Theatre Intensive, is a natural progression in our 20 years of training students in Dance, Acting and Voice at our facility in Hurley, New York. From the many programs NYCA has to offer, including classes, workshops, seasons of performances, summer workshops and an international traveling troupe - many of our students have continued on to a professional career on Broadway, Opera, Film, T.V., Radio, Commercials, Design and Tech Theatre. The Musical Theatre Intensive has been created to provide talented High School Graduates a place to focus entirely on their craft without the added rigors of an academic curriculum that is not necessary for landing the job in the performance market. We have had many students who have been accepted into prestigious colleges and universities majoring in Musical Theatre, Acting and Design; but their major complaint is that they do not receive enough studio time in Dance, Acting and Voice to make them truly competitive at the audition. The Musical Theatre Intensive program at NYCA will satisfy just that. Our Summer Traveling Troupe has performed throughout the world - from the White House to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland and Off-Broadway in New York City. Many of these Troupe Members have been college age performers that look for a more intensive study during the summer months. Now with the Musical Theatre Intensive, we will be providing you with that same training year round. This Program is designed to give you very personalized attention; we will focus on you while you focus on your craft. Because of this, the program is comprised of a small cast and you will be guaranteed to add substantial roles to your resume. This type of Intensive program is only right for a certain few people.
